The purpose of this site is to list all the artists in Owatonna and the surrounding area.  It is put together by Lynette Yencho of Garden Studio. The hope is that ones looking for Art in this area will find a good database of artists to choose from, and the artists in this area will have another avenue to show their work.

Unfortunately, this is not an automated-sign up quick type of site and it never will be. I understand there are artists who actually work on Art and don't have time for the computer end of things. On the other hand, I can put your work up for you and guarantee it will look good.

We don’t sell your art,  that is for you to do.  We do however, help you if you want to be listed, and show your work. We can link to your site and/or show your work right here. The price is $35, you get:

  • gallery set up with three or more images of your work
  • your bio
  • a photo of you
  • contact info
  • link to your web site and email address
  • Free announcement of your show on the Home page! If you are having an opening and need some extra exposure and advertising, we can help.

We can also digitize your images and there you can take advantage of a package offer*

My name is Lynette Yencho (aka Lynette Schmidt) I have been a professional artist for 30 years. Many things have changed during those years and I would say the biggest difference is that anyone interested in looking at my work can just go to the web, Google my name, connect to my site and if they like it, I get a call or e-mail. I have had commissions as far away as Canberra, Australia, and sold sculptures in London, all because of the convenience of the internet.

I do not miss those interviews in the cities where I have to wear hose and carry around a huge portfolio, in the snow. I used to spend hundreds of dollars on cards, brochures, portfolio sleeves not to mention clothing. I liked the idea of the web so much, I went to school for it. Now I am working on many sites, and I can work on one for you too!

Many ask how I get my images to look so crisp on the web. It is because I have the world's greatest husband who just happens to be a world class photographer. Okay, so I have an opinion. He shoots all my images, and people ask.

So my point, even if you have no understanding of computers, and don't care, you don't have to! You can bring your art to Garden Studio, and we can digitize your work and put it up too.

Do you need a web site? I can help you with that too. As an artist myself, I know how important it is to have a site that looks good, works well, and is sensitive to the style of my work. I also know the helpless feeling of not being able to change the things I want when I want, and I am determined to have all my customers happy and satisfied there too.
